Frequently Asked Questions

What do you need to know?  Here are some of the questions I’m asked most often.  If your question isn’t answered below, don’t be shy, get in touch!

Or, if you have lots of questions, get in touch and we can have a chat.

How much does it cost to work with you?

I’m going to sound like a lawyer here – it depends on what you need! If you’ve got a blog post written but you don’t like the way it reads, an edit and polish starts from about £40. If you need a whole website writing it’ll be nearer £400.

I offer blog writing packages – for details of those click here.

However, if you want to hand over all of your blog writing, social media content and email marketing get in touch as we’re going to need a serious talk.

How do you know what to write?

Your content needs to reflect your business. I’ll work in a way that suits you but I need to understand you and your business so I can make sure that the information I include is accurate and that blog posts are on topics that your customers will find interesting.

You can give me a list of topics and send me away to write and research everything else.  You can include background information.  Alternatively, you can give me half an hour of your time to tell me what’s going on with you and I’ll come up with the ideas.

What can I expect if I book a consultation call?

If you book a free consultation call with me, I’ll start by asking you about your business and having a chat. I believe that you need to find the right copywriter for you – I can write in a lot of different styles but the best results come from working with someone you get on with. I’ll ask you whether you know what sort of content you need or if you need some ideas.

Will you save me time?

There are no guarantees. However, if you’re spending endless hours writing web copy or coming up with blog post topics and struggling to get a result you’re happy with, then yes. This is particularly true if you could be making products or seeing clients and earning money in that time. I aim to free up your time so that you can put it to better use.

Of course, if you’re sending me detailed notes that take you longer than the original blog post did, then no.

Will the content you write sound like me?

It will sound like a polished version of you. If you work in marketing for a large organisation, I’ll work with your brand guidelines or consult with you to come up with a ‘voice’ that you’re happy with.

If you’re a sole trader, I aim to get to know you and what you sound like, or how you write already.  That means that I can write in your style or in a way that reflects how you speak.  This gives you a consistent brand and communication style, which is particularly important if you’re eventually going to meet new customers in person.

What if I don’t like what you’ve written?

Tell me. You need to have something that you’re happy with. I’ve got a thick skin and I won’t take it personally.

Do your quotes include alterations?

All my quotes cover alterations but it has to be within reason.  When we talk about your project we’ll prepare a brief.  If you change the brief completely after I’ve delivered the work, there’s likely to be an additional charge.
